Fighting Irish: A quick a Easy Favor Idea!

Howdy, Islanders! It's been *what feels like* forever since we last spoke.  I'm working on a few blog posts to get back into the swing of things so, it looks like I'm coming out of hiding!  This time, I've been missing NOT because I haven't been doing things but because my resolution to be productive and to make some serious progress on personal goals meant that I needed to spend less time sharing and more time doing.  As I've mentioned a few times, my Instagram story (here) has behind-the-scenes updates everyday; follow me for the latest!

Today, I'm sharing some goodie bags I made for a neighborhood mom.  Her son had finished a successful football season and she wanted to give team members something cute to commemorate making it to the little league playoffs.  She asked for something sweet and she gave me free reign to create.  I used the team mascot to create some super cute tags:

I've shared the free printable below.  Save the image and print as a 4X6 photo at your local drug store.  6 tags for every photo print.

I like printing at CVS because photos are usually 29 cents each.  I was so pleased with the final product!

Football Shower - It's A Girl!

This week, we're opening the celebration vault to discuss events - both past and present.  Buckle up, Islanders, this is going to be a bumpy ride!  First up? Last week's football baby shower.

I was asked to help with a former office cube neighbor's baby shower during last week's event bonanza.  He and his wife are expecting a baby girl and, because this event was for the dad-to-be, the coordinators chose a football theme.   As you know, I recently coordinated a football-themed baby shower for Hubbs' cousin.  In the case of the office event, plans were finalized before I was involved - they determined the theme (Dad is a Dallas Cowboys fan and Mom is a Redskins fan), they decided on the decor and the overall set-up.  It really made my life easier so I volunteered to provide a sweets table and that was going to be my only focus for the event.  We know that weekend was crazy for me (with four events) so I was GLAD to play a minor role in the event!

As the shower neared, I realized the invite wasn't sent and volunteered to make one.  I used the theme to create an invite.  Do you remember the football shower invitation?

I took that design and tweaked it for the shower.

It turned out super cute and set the tone this would be a fun baby shower for the guys and girls.  I really like it and I decided to incorporate pink because it's for a cheerleader.  I wanted the sweets table to be classy, elegant and girl-y but clearly be a football-y (another word I made up... you're welcome!) table.  Mission accomplished!

DIY Bleacher Cupcake Stand

Thanks for all the sweet comments about the football shower; you know they warm my party plannin' soul!  I have to be honest, in the heat of the event, I wasn't that impressed.  I felt, with the unexpected surge in guests, I lost control - not enough linen for the last-minute tables we had to pull out, not enough favors for each guest, not enough printables for one of the games.  In the moment, I was kicking myself thinking, "TABITHA, why didn't you plan for this?!" That only lasted for a few minutes because I took a moment to look around.

People were dancing, catching up, enjoying great food and THIS was 30 minutes after everything "ended."  Guests didn't want to leave and the parents-to-be had the party they wanted!  Why was I tripping?  Why was I kicking myself? It was a great event.  Plus, my star of the show, the cupcake bleachers, were a hit!

Down! Set! Fun! - A Baby Shower

Can you tell I had an eventful weekend?  Saturday, we hosted an awesome baby shower for Hubbs' favorite cousin, Selena and it was loads of fun!

Because I had to decorate from afar, I focused my efforts on easy-to-pack paper crafts and decor.  I knew I wanted to fill the walls  but I didn't want the traditional football party items sold at the party stores.  Instead, I used black foam core board and chalk to create large-scale wall art that resembled football plays.

Guests were greeted by a sign that read, "Down! Set! Come In!"

Football-Themed Baby Shower

Howdy, Islanders!

Yesterday I shared the invitation for a March baby shower I'll be co-hosting in NJ.

This shower is for Hubbs' favorite cousin.  Our little girls, Munch and Cousin Kelly, are very close so, I'm excited to pull together an event that will be filled with the love we have for the Robinson family.  I designed the invite based on the guidance that the shower will be a nod to daddy-to-be's (DTB) adoration for football and the Colts to be more specific.
