Well and Pretty: An Update.

Howdy, Islanders!

Yesterday's Wordless Wednesday post was a pictorial update on some of my favorite things to keep myself well and pretty.

Life Water

Have you heard of the many benefits found in alkaline water.  I love water.  I tried Life Water and I LOVE it.  I can FEEL the difference from the inside out.

I drink a bottle of alkaline water everyday.  Some of the benefits include, but are not limited to:

- digestion support
- urinary health
- flushing bodily systems
- balancing and countering an acidic diet

So, drink water... LOTS of water.  If you can, try to incorporate alkaline water into your water intake routine.

Bare Minerals Makeup

I found a makeup routine that works for me.  Its fail-proof technology and consultations at the time of purchase have helped to give me a polished and dewy complexion when I want to get all dolled up or add a little somethin' extra on any given day.

Check out the website(here) for the latest updates, discounts and product information!

100-calorie Candies

OMG!  At the checkout lines in Walmart, they've introduced the perfectly sized candies for my sweet tooth.  They're these nifty 100-calorie bars that are made for a small variety of candies including Snickers, Twix, Starburst, and Skittles.

They larger than the fun-sized bars and offer a guilt-free opportunity to indulge.  They've quickly become my go-to treat once a week.

Fruit

While I've always kept a fruit bowl, I've cut back on the unhealthy snacks in our home.  Oh, and by cut back, I mean practically cut off all unhealthy snacks.  I mean, we used to have all kinds of snacks but not anymore.

Every week, I stock the fruit basket.  I love to have my daily dose of 3-5 fresh fruits a day.

I have specific updates to share.  I found an amazing eyebrow pencil, I found a great soap to keep our skin moisturized, I have a facial regimen that keeps my skin clear (for the  most part), I have been sleeping better, I have decreased my carb intake... things (physically, mentally, emotionally) are on the up and up.

What are you doing to improve yourself?  Share some ideas in the comments! I'm always looking for ways to improve.

34: Surprised As Ever.

Howdy, Islanders!

Last we spoke, I left you with a suspenseful ending.  That ending served as the perfect segue into the birthday wrap-up.  I'm excited to share the details of the day because there are lots.

First update?  Oh, my bad.  Let's get to it... wait.  Back up.  Before I went to sleep on my birthday eve, Munch banned me from being upstairs.  She was preparing something for my birthday.  When she finished, she stood in front of me holding a balloon.

If you read it as I did, the message in the above photo is, "SUPER STAR MOM."  It made me smile and, because she messed up on the heart, I was given the balloon as an early birthday gift.  Before she headed to bed, Munchface requested that I wake her at 6:15 the following morning... clearly, she had something up her sleeve.  On my birthday, Munch woke bright and early to setup.

34: Fresh as Ever.

Islanders, let me tell you.  33 was HARD on me.

I know what you're going to say and I don't care.  Things were NOT all peaches and cream or unicorns and rainbows; it was hard.  Like, not that 'adulting' has ever been easy but this?!  The life I was living?!  It was hard.
My core circle who knew, knew.  People who thought they knew probably talked.  Then, there were people who thought they knew 'everything there was to know' and didn't even have the tip of the iceberg... Islanders, have you ever been in a position to have people you call friends know you're in a storm and never even call to offer you an umbrella?

That was me.

I was so glad to say goodbye to 2016 and to the events that transpired along the journey through the 33rd year of my life.  Now, you know me.  I'll share my own story in my own way and on my own time.  For now...

Things I Love: Himalayan Salt Lamp Review

Yesterday, I shared my love for the essential oil diffusers I purchased awhile back.  Today, we’re talking about another natural way to freshen and purify your air.

When a co-worker first told me about the Himalayan Salt benefits, I was skeptical.  I mean, I enjoyed the pleasant glow of the rock in her office but -- a rock?  With all those benefits?

Couldn’t be true.  Could it?

If you know me, you know I research.  Seriously, Islanders.  When in doubt, find it out!  I researched and found the benefits of Himalayan salt to be astounding.  You can learn more here.

I planned to buy one when I saw it on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond but the sale passed and, with it, so did my desire to purchase.  As you know, I frequent my local thrift shops and I was pleasantly surprised to find one priced at $4.90 on a half-off day!  Islanders! THAT’S $2.45!!! OMG!  I rushed home, wiped it down with a damp cloth, then with a dry one and excitedly plugged in my new Himalayan salt lamp!

The ambient glow is great in the space at night.  Yep, now the dog can see when he quickly jumps off the sofa whenever I enter in the room (rolls eyes... my REAL life).

If you’re looking for a natural remedy to the things listed above, do your research and search for one on sale (they are heavy so shipping may cost more).

Life Update - Divorce.

In my last post, I mentioned it's been 6 years since I last blogged and this particular life update is one of the reasons I buried my he...
