Birthday Week - AND WE'RE OFF!

Do you remember how I declared this a time of celebration on Fabulous Island?  I was twirling around our little island town in my tacky-yet-totally-birthday-appropriate outfit.  Apparently, no one outside of our tiny island knows that all islanders are supposed to be treated like royalty until this time of national Islander celebration ends.  Would you believe they don't even know I'm something like a big deal during this time?

I know! I was flabbergasted too!

32 - Yet Another.

Today is a national holiday here on the Island.  Today, the Island queen rocks her tacky tutu and plastic pink tiara.  Today, there are island parades, mandatory free stuff at all island stores, and an appreciation for another.

Today is my birthday.

This year, I've resolved to evolve (more on what that means here).  For my birthday, I'm celebrating all of my 'anothers' - another year of life, another year of holidays, another year of laugh-out-loud moments, another year of blessings... I'm also reflecting on the lessons I've learned and the people I've lost.  Many of them were not as fortunate to see their birthday this year and will never have an opportunity to celebrate time's graceful aging process.

Football-Themed Baby Shower

Howdy, Islanders!

Yesterday I shared the invitation for a March baby shower I'll be co-hosting in NJ.

This shower is for Hubbs' favorite cousin.  Our little girls, Munch and Cousin Kelly, are very close so, I'm excited to pull together an event that will be filled with the love we have for the Robinson family.  I designed the invite based on the guidance that the shower will be a nod to daddy-to-be's (DTB) adoration for football and the Colts to be more specific.

Printables! Free Invitation Printables!

Hey, hey! I've been busy here lately!  Sure, I've had a number of client meetings and a few events but my primary tasks have involved PARTY PRINTABLES!  I'm gaining traction with friends for some of my "new" services slated to launch in 2015.  We've got some parties coming up and I was asked to design the invitations for a few!

SO excited!

First, DatMyHoney is turning two.  Wait, have you forgotten the ball of cuteness that is my boo?

I know.  It feels like her winter ONEderland was just the other day, right?  Well, the time to celebrate our honey is upon us again.  Already.  I'm saving my tears and temper tantrums for another time and you should too, Islanders.  Today, we're talking about the awesome party invite I designed per Sheena's inspiration image.  Didn't it turn out adorable?

DatMyHoney loves Yo! Gabba Gabba.  She *like* LOVES it.  While she's a visual learner for sure, I truly believe the music and songs are what she enjoys most about the program.  Themes like this won't be requested as she (and her opinion) grows older so it's special when parents listen to their little ones and give them a party they will LOVE while they are still appropriate!  I tried to convince Munch to have a princess party this year.  The kid almost passed out.  She's got big plans for her birthday and PRINCESS is just-about out of the window.  OMG! I think a piece of my soul just drifted away in the I'm-too-grown breeze that just blew.  Did you feel it? It's ice cold.

I'll Try.

I may be the only one but...

As a mom, it requires a conscious effort for me to get dressed.  I have an internal battle every.single.day.  The sleepy me feels like brushing my dirty hair into a messy bun and throwing on my favorite sweats as armor to survive the crap life may throw at me.  The ready-to-conquer-the-world (RTCW) me, however, wants to remind sleepy me that we should and shall look like a functioning adult.

For the record, RTCW me totally gets on sleepy me's nerves.

Frugal Friday - Laundry Room Updates

I mentioned my 2015 journey to a better me.  While we're on the topic of improvements, I thought I'd share some of my personal victories over the holidays.  The first starts with conquering my greatest chore challenge and enemy, the laundry.

Once upon a time, there was a fabulous queen... she had many talents and wonderful traits.  She also, however, had an evil, stankin', nemesis named Laundry.  It seemed that no matter what the queen did or how hard the queen tried, dirty undies and mis-matched socks would still pile up.  The queen realized that after they were washed, even the CLEAN laundry would pile up.  It quickly became apparent the queen could only perform two of the laundry tasks at a time - sort and wash, wash and dry, dry and fold or fold and put away.  Many a towel was left to mildew as a result.  Many pairs of jeans seem permanently wrinkled due to their stint in the dryer.  For the queen, there seemed to be NO HOPE.

Then, during one winter vacation, something happened.

2015 - A Year of Evolution.

On New Years Eve, I spent some time getting cute.

Cute may not be the first word that comes to mind when you see the above image but... I was drying my hair in preparation for the cuteness to follow.  I, however, couldn't hold a candle to the overload of cuteness that was Munchface.

The face of a mother who is shocked this chick knows the words to every NYE performance!

We tried a big girl style and we both were happy with the results.

The Littles - Lea, MyHoney, Superman

Over the holidays, I had lots of time for my littles.  In addition to the Christmas crew, I enjoyed some one-on-one time with my babies.

Christmas, Haircuts, Superheroes and More!

Well, well, well.   Where in the WORLD have you been, islander?!

Wait.  That's probably what you're thinking about me. Well, it's been a fun-filled holidayfest over here... Just to show how much I care about you, I've left my Christmas decor up... well, most of it.  It'll stay that way until I spill the eggnog (instead of beans... get it?!) of our awesome-fantastic holiday break!

*taps mic* Does this thing even work anymore?  Can you hear me in the back? So, the last we spoke, I was sharing a random find.  If...
