It was time to celebrate LJ's first year of life and I arrived to the party super excited to see all of Tati's hard work and planning finally pay off!

Here's a quick pictorial journey for our little Superman, LJ.  Now, the last you saw him, LJ was a little peanut but he had gobs of personality.

Three Months

At his six-month milestone, LJ had a big boy photo shoot.

Look at that smile! I want to eat him up!  For our gift to the little man who had everything, we got a keepsake he will probably have his whole life.  We wanted to give something to serve as a reminder that his family knew he'd be great from the moment he entered the world.  This gift, a super hero cape, came with a certificate of super hero authenticity and a note that certifies Langston as an OFFICIAL super hero (how many people can put that on their resume?!)!  His cape usually hangs on his pegboard in his room - ya know, in the event he needs to jump out of his crib to save the world.  He put it on for his big boy photo shoot and it looked awesome.

Eight months - sitting up and eating his stickers

Time flies, right?  He LOVES me.  I think he really prefers when I have big hair because he really gets a kick out of it moving around.

The first time I fed him, I wiggled the spoon on his gums (he was teething) and he LOVED IT.

Spent some time with this guy and I will watch my videos all week to get by until I see him again. #teething #superman #LJ #babygiggles

Yes, Munch held him (and smelled his head) and we gave him a bath!  I shared my little man... talk about progress!

TBT: A Super Cute Safari Shower

I've opened the celebration vault and, in doing so, I realize I still owe you lots of updates!  First, yesterday's Wordless Wednesday post was a teaser.

Our little super hero is *like* a little man now.  He's still super... just not as bite-sized as he once was.  I will share a few images in the coming days but I realized I didn't share his baby shower photos!

Langston's family took the lead for the shower and we conducted a few teleconferences to plan things.   Everyone settled on a theme to match the nursery decor, SAFARI SPORTS!  Langston comes from a family of teachers.  Both his aunt and mom are teachers and they each had oodles of animal stuff in their teacher stashes (I totally want a teacher stash now).  Because this event was to be hosted at Langston's aunt's home, she headed up the food and decor with support from her family.  I was asked to get the cake and to work with Tati's friend, Lynsie, for games.  I think I can handle that :)

There were challenges with the shower and NO, not the Event Planner Resentment you are thinking!  As you all are aware, baby LJ arrived SUPER early... he arrived even before the baby shower was scheduled and, as a matter of fact, he was in the NICU when the shower was hosted.  The main challenge was deciding whether to proceed with a shower... pulling LJ's parents away from the NICU seemed inconsiderate.  However, as the shower date neared, the odds that LJ would come home increased.  If we didn't host a shower, when would the new parents have time to shop for the things they needed?
