In celebration of Thrifty Thursday, I thought I'd share my latest shower finds. ENJOY!
Wait. First, to get you in the baby shower mood, here's another sneak peek of one of the pics I took during God Baby's Belly Shoot:
LOVE IT! I always get questions/comments regarding the expense of hosting FAB events. Everyone wants to make the most of their budget but I like to bring character and personalization to my events as well. I start by shopping the house for new and innovative ways to display goodies (we've talked about that here). Another major way I save is to SHOP my local THRIFT STORES!!! OMG! Check out my latest finds for God baby's shower: I'll list the find(s), the place(s) I purchased, the price(s) and use(s) below each pic. |
Ruffle bowl (far left) - $3 - HomeGoods. Use: to hold supplies on bow station table. It's holding Hubbs' keys right now.
Aqua glass planter (center front) - $.99 - Goodwill. Use: floral arrangement.
Turquoise Planter (center back) - $1.99 - Goodwill. Use: floral arrangement (live for the shower then artificial for the nursery).
Picture Frame (far right) - $4.99 - Villiage Thrift Store. Use: Sign for buffet. I know, it's pricey BUT it was brand new and here's a close-up so you can see the detail... It even still had the price tag of $20!! It will be perfect in baby's nursery too :)
2 plastic turquoise plates - $1.00/each - Burlington Coat Factory. Use: 2-tier platter for food. I'm going to make a display using that Dollar Tree candlestick (tutorial coming soon).
Metal decorative bucket (it's flat on the back and designed for hanging against flat surfaces) - $2.00 - Goodwill. Use: to hold props at the photo booth. It'll hold goodies in baby's nursery too!
Old raggedy framed art - $3.99 - Goodwill. Tune in tomorrow to see how I transformed it into a bow holder for the shower/nursery!
Yep, the official Operation Shower countdown has started and I've got the hot glue burns to prove it, lol.
Speaking of labors of love, here's a sneak peek of my guest post over at Jenny's blog coming soon... It's the photo booth backdrop in the MAKING! I can't WAIT to show you the finished product!
Do you have any tips for saving without compromising event/room designs? Feel free to share them in the comments! I just LOVE me some comments :)
Happy thrifty Thursday, Islanders!
I need to go to Goodwill! I've heard so many people say that they find great stuff there. I gotta check it out!! :)
